Parfitt Children
Volunteering is a family affair for Bill Parfitt, his wife and kids. After painting walls in a Group Home apartment and helping the client move last summer, his children came back to help host a Group Home Holiday Party in January.
Goodbye Mother's Sharing
After more than 40 years, our Mother's Sharing group for mothers of children with special needs suspended its meetings due to poor attendance. "Thank you to all of the mothers who attended for providing support and companionship, and for sharing your stories!"

New Preschool Day Treatment
Leveraging decades of mental health expertise, St. David's Center for Child & Family Development opened the first Preschool Day Treatment program in the West metro on January 5. For children ages 3.5 years to kindergarten with significant mental health diagnoses, the new program aims to repair the impact of trauma and other developmental issues so children can re-enter school ready to learn and form relationships. My Life Makeover 
Best Buy LogoMy Life, our social networking site for children and young adults with special needs, has been updated and now features blog-style entries with opportunities to post pictures and comments. Funded by a grant from the Best Buy Children's Foundation, the project provides a more secure option for children with disabilities involved with St. David's Center to increase their communication skills and self-esteem while decreasing the social isolation they often feel. 2010 Gala: Make Them Shine
2010 Gala Image Within every child is a spark; light the way; make them shine by attending our 2010 St. David's Center Gala with honorary co-chairs John and Candace Randle. The event will be held on March 6 at the Sofitel in Bloomington and raises money to support the more than 2,500 children and families we serve each year. MORE...
